Burnley sign Kyle Walker from Manchester City for £5m

Burnley landed England defender Kyle Walker from Manchester City for five million pounds. The veteran right-back passed his medical exam Friday and put pen to paper on a two-year deal. Walker reunites with head coach Scott Parker after they shared time together at Tottenham Hotspur. The 35-year-old defender expressed his excitement about joining what he called a promising squad. Parker convinced Walker during their conversation about plans for the upcoming campaign.

Walker appeared just 15 times for City during the first half of last season. AC Milan borrowed him during January but chose not to keep him permanently. The experienced player collected 17 major honors during his Manchester City career. Walker helped the club achieve their historic Treble during the 2023 season. His trophy cabinet reflects years of success at the highest level.

Sheffield United gave Walker his professional start before City paid 45 million pounds for his services during 2017. The defender made 319 total appearances for the Citizens across seven seasons. Burnley earned promotion back to the Premier League after suffering relegation during 2024. The club announced Walker's arrival through a creative social media post featuring Lionel Richie's famous Hello music video. Walker becomes their fifth summer addition after Axel Tuanzebe, Quilindschy Hartman, Max Weiss and Loum Tchaouna.
