Bus Crash Injures 56 SUN JV Employees Near Ski Resort

A bus crash on Monday injured dozens of workers in Lesotho. The bus was taking SUN JV employees back to a project site.

It overturned near the Afri Ski Resort in Botha Bothe. The resort is in Lesotho's mountains.

SUN JV is a contractor for the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP). The LHWP confirmed the accident in a statement.

Rescue teams came from the LHWP and a nearby mine. They took 56 hurt workers to a clinic at the mine.

Doctors sent 35 injured people to a hospital in Mokhotlong and 13 to a clinic at SUN JV's site.

Four other workers went to Butha Buthe for care. Four more were taken to Maseru, the capital.

The 19 workers who were not hurt took a taxi back to the project site. SUN JV will counsel everyone involved.

The LHDA thanked the emergency crews. It told drivers to be extra careful on mountain roads.

The agency wants employees and families to be safe and will help them during this difficult time.
