Soccer team CAPS United will show off their new players and team clothes today in Harare. They want everyone to know they are ready for the 2025 Castle Lager Premiership games.
The Green Machine team feels happy even though some good players left for other teams. The team leader, Morton Dodzo, said the camp buzzes with excitement before their first game against GreenFuel this Saturday.
"Our club feels excited about starting the new season. We will show our official kit and new players tomorrow," Dodzo said. "We will tell everyone about our technical partner for the team clothes at the same time. Our fans will see all the different kinds of uniforms we will wear this season."
They held a similar event last year and want to repeat it every year. Dodzo thinks it adds a professional touch that matches what teams around the world do.
Most people already know CAPS United will work with Viego, one of Zimbabwe's best sportswear makers. The team used Viego clothes during practice and when showing new players in pre-season.
The team will show home uniforms, away uniforms, training gear, and warm-up kits. Fans can buy copies of these uniforms. The first two copies of each uniform will be sold at a special auction. Other uniforms will be sold in shops and supporter branches across the country.
CAPS United wants to win the Castle Lager Premiership title this year. They last won in 2016. They face tough battles against rich teams like Scottland, MWOS, and last year's winners, Simba Bhora.
The team added many new players, including Zimbabwe stars Kundai Benyu and Tanaka Shandirwa. They also brought in players from other countries, like Love Bissila Mabiala from Congo, Stephen Odai Kwaku from Ghana, and Rowen Messy Tjihumba from Namibia.
Other new players include Brighton Manhire, Nyasha Chintuli, Juan Mutudza, and goalkeeper Harmony Nare. These new players help compensate for losing older players like Godknows Murwira, Lot Chiwunga, Ralph Kawondera, and William Manondo.
