Charlene Ruto spares book impersonator Webster Ochora Elijah

President William Ruto's daughter Charlene has decided to pardon Webster Ochora Elijah after accusations of impersonation and unauthorized book publication. Webster repeatedly contacted her legal representatives at Kachapin & Company Advocates seeking reconciliation. His sincere apologies moved Charlene to grant forgiveness and pursue mediation rather than court proceedings. The alternative dispute resolution process will commence on August 19, 2025. She emphasized that accountability demonstrates strength rather than weakness.

Charlene highlighted broader concerns about digital harassment and reputation destruction through online platforms. She stressed that public figures retain rights to safety, truth, privacy and respect despite their visibility. The case represents widespread issues of cyberbullying, defamation and targeted digital attacks affecting many individuals. She called for transforming Kenya's digital culture and rejecting harmful online behaviors. Charlene expressed gratitude to the National Police Service and Judiciary for their professional handling of the matter.
