Enock Kanzingeni Chihana took the oath as Second Vice President of Malawi on Monday at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre, with Deputy Chief Justice Lovemore Chikopa administering the ceremony before senior government officials and political leaders. The Alliance for Democracy president becomes the second person to hold this position after his late father Chakufwa Chihana, who served under President Bakili Muluzi in the 1990s. His appointment follows Section 80(5) of the Constitution, which permits the president to name a second vice president when necessary.
