Chipolopolo clash DR Congo, Sakala vows surprise

Zambia squares off against DRC at the Pinata Sports Arena for a friendly ahead of AFCON, and head coach Moses Sichone said his squad respects their opponents on paper but plans to bring the fight once the whistle blows. The team got a boost after several foreign-based players showed up to camp, and the competition for starting spots heated up with guys like Klings Kangwa, Patson Daka, and Frankie Musonda all trying to lock down their positions.

New captain Fashion Sakala hyped up the roster by saying other countries will get caught off guard by how good this young Zambian side actually is, and he asked fans to keep backing the team after some rough results lately. Sichone told his players that anyone working hard in training gets a shot to prove themselves, and he wants everyone fighting for their spot heading into the tournament.
