A man named Isaac Matinyarare took someone's car in Chiredzi. The car's owner, Phillip Mafuta, says Matinyarare grabbed his silver Nissan Sulphy Bluebird. Mafuta told The Mirror that Matinyarare took the car because of money he owed. He also took important car papers and keys.
The stories from both men differ a lot. Mafuta says he only owed US$60. But Matinyarare, who lives at 85 B Curve in Chiredzi, claims Mafuta owed him US$1,000. Matinyarare said he would show proof with signed papers, but he has not shared them yet.
The police have not looked into this case yet. Acting Police Spokesperson Masauso Patinyu needs time to check the facts. People say Matinyarare has taken other cars too. These cars sit at the Chiredzi Police Station. They belong to different people who owe him money.
