Chivayo Bags 109M While Health Ministry Begs

Opposition leader Fadzayi Mahere raised concerns about a government contract worth millions of dollars. She said businessman Wicknell Chivayo would receive over $109 million each year from the deal. The Health Ministry only received $44 million for all of 2025. Mahere called the difference unfair and questioned government priorities. She wants new leadership to fix these problems.

The leaked contract shows Chivayo would receive $439 million over four years for cancer equipment. His company TTM Global Medical Exports would supply treatment machines and imaging tools. The government planned to pay $52.5 million upfront before any delivery. Monthly payments of $9.1 million would follow for the first year. Critics worry the money might disappear without any equipment delivered.

Chivayo denied the contract was real and called it fake news. He said political enemies created the document to damage his reputation. The businessman claimed he was on vacation and did not want to be bothered. He challenged lawyers to prove the unsigned papers meant anything. Government officials have not confirmed or denied the contract exists.
