Chiwenga Courts Biden at Pope's Burial

Vice President Chiwenga reached St Peter's Basilica for Pope Francis's funeral services. The Pope died Easter Monday at 88 from a stroke, making Christians worldwide sad. Before the ceremony, Chiwenga talked with former President Biden, possibly helping fix Zimbabwe-US relations. President Mnangagwa recently cut taxes on American imports as part of his plan to improve ties with Washington.

Events started early, with St Peter's Square opening at 5:30 a.m. Cardinal Giovanni Battista, as Dean of Cardinals, led the funeral mass at 10 a.m. The Pope's body will enter the basilica at 1 p.m. Following church rules for pontiff burials, officials will take him to Santa Maria Maggiore church. Regular people will gather there to say goodbye to the Pope during the final moments.
