Court grants remand in Osman Hadi murder case

A court approved five more days of police custody for two men linked to the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi. The accused, Sibiun Dew and Sanjoy Chisim, are suspected of helping the main shooter flee the country after the attack. A detective branch inspector argued for the extended remand, saying they need to find a smuggling gang leader named Philip and identify other accomplices through further questioning.

Hadi, a political hopeful and spokesperson for Inqilab Moncho, was shot by motorcycle assailants in Dhaka. He later died from his wounds in a Singapore hospital. Investigators believe the primary shooter, Faisal Karim Masud, escaped across the border illegally with help. The case was originally filed as attempted murder by the victim's organization, with a murder charge added after Hadi passed away.
