Vice President CP Radhakrishnan will meet political party leaders on Oct. 7 in his first formal gathering as Rajya Sabha chairman. The session begins at 4 p.m. in the Parliament complex annexe extension building, less than one month after Radhakrishnan won the vice presidential election on Sept. 9. BJP national president J P Nadda, opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will attend the closed-door discussion focused on legislative productivity and national consensus building.
The vice president plans to emphasize constructive debate and mutual respect ahead of the winter session. Political analysts believe the early outreach establishes a collaborative framework for the upper house after recent disruptions and sharp exchanges. The meeting may reduce communication barriers between ruling and opposition members on urgent national matters.
