Crocodile crash ruins riverside selfie spree

Absolute nightmare fuel on the Zambezi. A woman named Brenda Nyoni got killed by a crocodile near Binga over the weekend, with what was left of her found inside the animal later. Matabeleland North police inspector Glory Banda confirmed the details. Nyoni was with her husband, Taylor Bruce, and two others on a river island for a leisure trip when it happened.

The group took a speedboat to the spot. Nyoni and another woman, Sithembokuhle Baloyi, went into the water to take pictures. Bruce stayed on the sand with a fourth person. According to the police account, the two women were lying in the water for photos when a croc surfaced. It grabbed Nyoni, tossed her around, and dragged her under. Bruce tried to pull her out when she briefly surfaced, but the reptile came back and took her for good.

Cops and wildlife officials from ZimParks, along with a sub-aqua unit, launched a search. They spotted the crocodile the next day and shot it, but it got away. They found the dead animal later and cut it open on a farm. Inside, they found human remains, specifically a head, a bra, and a left arm. Inspector Banda put out a warning telling people, especially parents, to be careful around dangerous leisure areas like that.
