Crocodile kills Victoria Falls canoe guide on Zambezi

A crocodile killed veteran assistant guide Marlven Nyoni during a river safari Friday afternoon on the Zambezi River. The 43-year-old Mkosana resident worked for Victoria Falls Canoe Company when the attack occurred near Kadahar Island. Authorities recovered his body from the water following the fatal encounter. ZIMPARKS Public Relations Manager Tinashe Farawo confirmed the incident.

Officials have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack. Farawo stated that specific details about how the crocodile struck remain unclear pending further examination. The tourism industry expressed shock over the tragedy. River activities form the backbone of Victoria Falls' tourist economy.
