Cudjoe backs fair hearing for Safo over NPP fuss

Franklin Cudjoe wants everyone to listen to what Adwoa Safo has to say about problems inside the New Patriotic Party and money issues with Ghana's School Feeding Programme. Cudjoe runs IMANI Africa and spoke up during a TV show called The Big Issue on Channel One TV yesterday. He believes Safo deserves fair treatment because many people criticized her unfairly for years. She finally decided to talk about what happened, and Cudjoe thinks we should pay attention.

The NPP told its members not to discuss reasons for losing the recent election, but Cudjoe finds this rule strange. He mentioned that everybody already knows why the party lost power in 2024, making their rule against talking about it pointless. Cudjoe pointed out how Safo tried warning party leaders about serious problems, yet nobody listened to her concerns. When she reported misused money from the School Feeding Programme and offered proof through an audit report, even the President ignored her warnings.

Safo worked as the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection before losing her position. Her recent statements about stolen money meant for feeding schoolchildren caused major waves. The NPP leadership responded by sending her case to their National Disciplinary Committee because they claimed she broke party rules about discussing internal matters publicly. They want to punish her for speaking out instead of addressing the accusations she made about missing funds.

Despite the party trying to silence Safo, Cudjoe suggests she should take her evidence directly to Operation Recover All Loots. This government program investigates corruption claims and might actually do something with her information. Cudjoe stressed that bringing these problems into the open matters greatly for fixing Ghana's government systems. He believes better accountability happens when people expose wrongdoing rather than keep secrets about missing public money.
