Dagbon Overlord Steps In to End Tamale Docs Strike

The Dagbon chief sent helpers to fix the doctor problem at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. His team met hospital leaders and striking doctors to ease tensions. The Yaa Naa praised doctors but asked them to restart emergency care during talks.

He promised to tell the health minister about their problems. The chief wants doctors to keep helping urgent cases as they work things out. The hospital pharmacy director thanked the chief for stepping in at the right time.

He begged his coworkers to respect the chief's messengers. On April 24, doctors stopped emergency and regular patient visits after feeling attacked by officials. They decided to strike after an argument with the health minister during his visit.

Many sick people wait helplessly as the strike continues into day two. The doctors blame Health Minister Akandoh and MP Suhuyini for the situation. Chief Zangbalun Naa Dr. Yakubu II leads the peace team from the palace.

The traditional ruler offered to host talks between the doctors' representatives and government officials. Hospital staff claim the conflict started during the minister's inspection of the emergency area. The doctors held an urgent meeting before starting their protest action.
