David Bahati vows to serve Ndorwa County West despite losing NRM primary to Eliab Naturinda

State Minister David Bahati acknowledged defeat after losing the NRM primary election for Ndorwa County West on July 17th. Eliab Naturinda Mporera emerged victorious with 25,027 votes, representing 50.9 percent, while Bahati received 23,759 votes, at 48.3 percent. Mwesigwa Edward captured 416 votes for 0.8 percent according to Kabale District NRM Registrar Babra Ainebyona. Bahati described the electoral process as flawed and cited voter harassment along with intimidation during the exercise. The minister indicated he would review the entire process while consulting advisors about potential actions.

Bahati encouraged his supporters to maintain unity and patience as he considers his options. The politician emphasized service over positions when addressing followers after the results announcement. He assured constituents that their concerns would receive serious attention during his decision-making process. Bahati has served the region for twenty years and holds the position of NRM chairperson for Kabale District. Supporters expressed hope for peaceful resolution and continued regional development under his leadership.
