Desperate India to risk Jasprit Bumrah in must win Manchester Test

India faces a pivotal decision regarding Jasprit Bumrah's participation in the fourth Test at Old Trafford against England. The fast bowler has undergone careful workload management following his return from back surgery earlier this year. Team officials initially planned to use Bumrah in only three of the five Tests during this series.

Manchester represents a potential turning point as England could secure an unassailable 3-1 series advantage with victory. Bumrah delivered exceptional performances at Leeds and Lord's, taking five-wicket hauls in both matches despite India's defeats. The team rested him during the Birmingham Test to preserve his fitness for later games.

Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate acknowledged the strategic complexity facing the team. Meanwhile, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant battled through finger pain during the previous Test and missed batting practice on Thursday. Ten Doeschate expressed confidence that Pant would remain available for selection despite the injury concerns.
