Dirty Lake Albert Gets a UPDF Cleaning Blitz

People living near Lake Albert need to keep their homes and streets clean. Many of them catch bad sicknesses like cholera because they do not clean up properly. Mr. Amlan Tumusiime, an important leader in Kikuube, told everyone this at a special meeting at the Buhuka Landing Site.

Mr. Tumusiime wants the people to understand they can stop these sicknesses by washing their hands and keeping their streets clean. He knows dirty places make people sick, and he wants everyone to stay healthy.

Captain Andrew Nayebale helps take care of the Kingfisher area. He decided his team should clean up the places where boats come to land. These places need extra cleaning because many people buy and sell things there. He saw that these areas were very dirty, and that made him want to help.

Mr. Tumusiime also talked about fishing. He asked people to follow the rules about catching fish. The government gives money to help people start small businesses through something called PDM. He wants the fishing families to use this money.

The people who live there feel happy about the army coming to clean their area. Emmanuel Bisemeza, another local leader, thinks this shows the army cares about the people. He said the army used to stay away from the people, but that has changed. The army came to help clean, and this made everyone feel good about working together.
