Dreka Gates has filed a lawsuit against rapper Kevin Gates, accusing him of abandoning his financial responsibilities to her and their children while living lavishly. Court documents state that in 2021, Kevin stopped paying for essentials, such as private school and property taxes, even as he bought nearly 20 luxury cars and a multimillion-dollar home in Calabasas.
The couple’s Mississippi farm now faces IRS action over an alleged $7 million in unpaid taxes. Dreka is asking the court for $27,193 per month in child support and $46,274 in spousal support. She also seeks temporary primary custody, noting the children have lived mostly with her since 2023.
Kevin reportedly argues they were never legally married. Dreka disputes this, saying they wed in 2015 and built a life together. She filed for divorce in July 2025, citing irreconcilable differences.
