DStv removed nearly one million unauthorized decoders as part of an extensive operation targeting illegal devices that were being smuggled between Ghana and Nigeria. Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George announced the enforcement action during a September 29 appearance on Channel One TV. The minister rejected suggestions that MultiChoice Africa previously offered similar incentives to customers in the region.
