Dubai Municipality Launches Future Talents Program to Empower Youth

Dubai Municipality kicked off its summer program for young students who want to learn job skills. The Future Talents program takes 200 kids from high schools and colleges for hands-on training. Students spend four weeks working eight hours each day at different city departments. The program teaches them real work experience that matches what they study at school. Dubai officials want to prepare local youth for future careers.

High school students joined the program for the first time this year. Last summer only 60 college kids participated across 16 different departments. The city expanded the program to help more young people learn about government work. Students practice skills like talking to coworkers and showing up on time. They also build connections with professionals who might help their careers later.

Abdulla Khalfan runs the human resources department at Dubai Municipality. He says the program helps students connect what they learn at school with actual job duties. Young people see how offices really work and what their future jobs might look like. The training covers technical skills and office behavior that employers want. Dubai Municipality believes these students will help build the country when they finish school.
