Ekperi King Tells Herdsmen Pack Up and Scram

A traditional ruler from Edo State told all herdsmen to leave his kingdom after problems with crime. The Ekperi Kingdom leader, Alhaji D.Y.E Kanoba, announced this decision during a meeting at his palace. His statement spread quickly through social media, especially on the Auchi Blog Spot Facebook page. The order came after many kidnappings, farm damage, and attacks blamed on herdsmen. He wanted to prevent angry young people from seeking revenge.

The ruler asked the herdsmen to pack their belongings right after the meeting. He said the community cannot accept more attacks on residents or damage to crops. He stressed that safety matters most for his people. He urged a peaceful resolution instead of violence. He even begged them to leave his community for everyone's good.

Local police were informed about this decision to keep the peace. Residents had faced many hardships like ransom kidnappings, cattle destroying farms, ruined livelihoods, attacks, and reported rape cases. Many farmers became afraid to work their land because of these problems. The continuous fear made normal life impossible for community members.
