Elektron shakes up Digitakt and Digitone with fresh swaps

Elektron fans love their instruments, and the company keeps adding cool features through big updates. Recently, they made Digitakt II and Digitone II even better by giving each machine some features from the other, plus adding completely new stuff.

The Digitakt II update brings over the Comb+ filter from Digitone II, which adds metallic sounds to your filtering options. You can also choose whether saturation happens before or after filtering with the new routable overdrive and distortion controls. They brought back mono sampling alongside the stereo option, giving you more ways to capture sounds. Plus, you'll find the keytrack modulation feature that used to be only on its sibling.

Digitone II receives a much stronger Chord Mode with various settings and a Chord Memory function that really opens up your harmony options. You can stream multitrack audio straight to your computer with Overbridge - the plugin will come out soon after beta testing. The Arpeggiator can create fresh melodies through rotating offsets and works at more speed settings than before.

Both machines gain Track Swap for switching two tracks with all their settings and sequencer data intact - perfect for organizing live performances. The Parameter Lock function lets you quickly edit settings on all active trigs on a page or track. Live Record Overdub records new notes without erasing what's already there. They added options for recording Parameter Locks just to active trigs and new track selection methods. Extra features include a metronome toggle shortcut, kit previews on Digitone II, and an improved velocity curve for Digitakt II, along with better performance and interface improvements.
