Elon Musk to launch Grokipedia to challenge Wikipedia's bias

Elon Musk plans to launch Grokipedia as an alternative to Wikipedia through his artificial intelligence company xAI. The Tesla chief executive said the platform will utilize his Grok AI model, which is already operating on the social media site X. White House adviser David Sacks triggered the announcement by accusing Wikipedia of left-wing bias that affects search results and artificial intelligence training data.

Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger told media personality Tucker Carlson that site policies exclude conservative news sources from approved lists. Critics say this creates systematic favoritism on disputed subjects. Musk previously offered Wikipedia $1 billion to temporarily change its name and has mocked the donation-funded platform as politically skewed.

The billionaire entrepreneur shared supporter reactions on X, showing proposed logos and suggestions for maintaining neutrality. Grokipedia aims to address complaints from conservative commentators who claim that Wikipedia has abandoned its commitment to balanced coverage. The project represents Musk's latest challenge to established internet platforms.
