Ervine leads Zim to Bangladesh in Test cricket return

Zimbabwe cricket captain Craig Ervine feels hopeful as the team heads to Bangladesh for two Test matches starting this weekend. He returns after missing their last match against Ireland because of a personal emergency. The team wants to win in the challenging heat of Bangladesh, where they have only won once in their last six Test matches. Zimbabwe faces tough conditions, but Ervine believes his players can adapt quickly.

The team landed yesterday in Dhaka before moving to Sylhet today for their first match on Sunday. Their second match begins on April 28 at Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram. Zimbabwe has not won a Test match in their past ten attempts over five years. The players prepared as best they could at home but must adjust to the hot weather when they arrive.

Sean Williams comes back from a back injury, adding strength to the team with his batting skills against spin bowling. The squad made three changes from their previous match against Ireland. Tafadzwa Tsiga replaces Joylord Gumbie as wicketkeeper, Wellington Masakadza returns after two years away, and Vincent Masekesa joins as the only player without Test experience.
