Explosion in Kano kills five and injures 15 at scrap site

Five people lost their lives after a military bomb went off at a scrap metal business on Saturday. The deadly blast happened at a collection company located along Eastern bypass in Kano state. Police say the vehicle that carried the explosive device traveled from Yobe state before the tragedy struck. Emergency crews rushed to the scene after reports of the explosion came through. The incident left many people hurt and caused major damage to the area.

Police Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori told reporters about what happened at the site. He received an urgent call about the explosion and headed straight to the location. Military bomb disposal experts confirmed the device was a military-grade explosive. The blast hurt fifteen people who needed immediate medical care. Ambulances took all the injured victims to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Doctors at the hospital delivered terrible news about five of the patients. These victims could not survive their injuries from the powerful explosion. Ten other people remain at the hospital getting medical help for their wounds. The police chief explained that early findings show a truck brought the bomb from Yobe state. Investigators continue working on the case to find out more details about what caused this deadly incident.
