Federal High Court Judges Take Easter Break April 16

Federal High Court judges across Nigeria will start their Easter break on April 16. After the two-week vacation ends on April 28, they'll return to normal duties on April 29.

Chief Judge John Terhemba Tsoho announced that three key court divisions will remain open for emergency cases only. Court Information Director Catherine Oby Christopher shared this news through an official statement.

The announcement explained that the Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt divisions would handle urgent matters during the holiday period. These locations will only address cases involving fundamental rights, vessel arrests or releases, and issues of national importance.

The court assigned specific judges to each open division. Justices Emeka Nwite and Musa Sulaiman Liman will cover Abuja. Lagos cases fall to Justices Akintayo Aluko and Isaac Dipeolu. Port Harcourt matters go to Justices Phoebe Ayua and Adamu Mohammed.

Division heads must forward any cases needing immediate attention directly to the chief judge. He sent early Easter wishes to all his colleagues as they prepare for the upcoming court recess.
