Fenerbahçe drops bid for Milinković-Savić from Al Hilal

Fenerbahce has decided against pursuing Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Saudi club Al-Hilal. The Turkish team had shown interest recently but changed their plans. Sports journalist Rudy Galetti reported the news on social media platform X. He explained that Fenerbahce wants to focus on signing attackers instead. The club has made strengthening their forward line the main priority.

Reports had suggested Fenerbahce wanted to bring the Serbian star to Turkey. The midfielder currently plays for Al-Hilal after moving to Saudi Arabia. Galetti confirmed that the Turkish club stepped away from negotiations. Fenerbahce management prefers to spend money on multiple offensive players. The team believes attacking reinforcements will help them more than adding another midfielder.

Milinkovic-Savic has just one year remaining on his current deal with Al-Hilal. The Serbian international moved to the Middle East and has been performing well. Several European clubs have monitored his situation closely. Fenerbahce was among those teams considering a move for him. The Turkish giants have decided to pursue different transfer targets instead.
