Forza Motorsport Developer Turn 10 Rebranded as Forza Horizon Support Studio Amid Layoffs

Turn 10 Studios has stopped making Forza Motorsport games and helps other teams instead. The racing game makers had to fire over 70 workers from their offices. Former company worker Fred Russel told people on Facebook about the major changes. The studio assists Playground Games with their Forza Mentre series from here on out. Microsoft decided to shut down the Motorsport division completely.

Several other gaming studios faced similar problems during recent company cuts. The Initiative team was building a new Perfect Dark game but executives killed the project. Rare developers lost their Everwild adventure game after years of work. ZeniMax Online had to cancel their online role-playing game despite positive reviews. Even games that impressed Xbox leaders like Phil Spencer got the axe.

Romero Games also lost their shooting game project during the massive cuts. John Romero helped create the famous DOOM series but his new company could not save their latest work. Gaming industry watchers called these decisions shocking because many projects showed real promise. Studios across Microsoft faced uncertainty about their future plans. The company appears focused on fewer but bigger gaming projects moving forward.

Racing fans will miss the Forza Motorsport series after its recent comeback success. Critics praised the latest game as a major improvement over previous versions. Turn 10 had spent years perfecting their racing simulation technology. The series brought realistic car physics and stunning graphics to millions of players. Many gamers hoped for more Motorsport games but must wait for different racing experiences instead.
