Four teens bust school riot over stolen phone

Four individuals arrested after unrest at Osei Tutu Senior High School in Akropong have received bail totaling sixty thousand Ghana cedis from the Abuakwa Circuit Court. Each person was granted fifteen thousand cedis bail with one surety, following their plea of not guilty to conspiracy and rioting charges. The accused, Samuel Aloo, Abukari Sadik, Andrews Boateng, and Emmanuel Gariba, are set to return to court on October 17. According to police, tensions rose after a clash between Esaase youth and students over a reported mobile phone theft. On August 27, several youth from Esaase, including the suspects, attempted to approach the school, but students blocked the road and threw stones, prompting a police response that led to the arrests.
