FRSC Rolls Out Roadside Courts to Nab Reckless Drivers

Road safety officers placed courts on highways to stop crashes across the country. The Edo State team shared this news during United Nations Safety Week activities in Benin City. Mr Ben Akunhe said they want to create order on the roads through these measures. Courts will catch drivers who break traffic rules at places like Ramat Park. Drivers found guilty must pay fines as a warning to others.

The United Nations started this safety program back in 2010 to lower death rates from road accidents. They created five main areas for countries to focus on for safer travel. These areas cover crash management, safety rules, driver behavior, vehicle condition, and help after accidents. Mr Akunhe promised his team would work hard to reduce accidents in Nigeria. He stated that all Nigerians deserve to live without injuries from road crashes. The mobile courts represent one step toward safer roads for everyone.
