Gachagua's Bold Moves to Dominate Mt Kenya

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua met lawmakers from Kisii at his home in Nyeri. Earlier that same day, he talked with leaders from Murang'a County.

"Leaders from Kisii came to see me at my house in Wamunyoro," Gachagua said. The group had seven members, both elected and chosen. They spoke about what Kisii people want.

Gachagua told them he heard their views on money matters and life in Kisii. "People must get good value for their taxes," he said. He wants Kenya to follow the dreams its first leaders had.

The day before, lawmakers from Nakuru visited him. These visits show that Gachagua wants to keep his power in the Mt Kenya area before the next big vote in 2027.

People who know say Gachagua plans more talks with leaders from ten areas near Mt Kenya. He meets both local leaders and members of parliament.

After his talk with Nakuru leaders, Gachagua said these chats helped him learn what people need. He wants to know what normal citizens think should come first.

He keeps meeting groups from different places, which shows that he wants strong support from all parts of the mountain region.
