Gayle King reportedly set to leave CBS Mornings

After more than 13 years of hosting "CBS Mornings," Gayle King is expected to step down from her role next year when her contract ends in May. Sources close to the situation suggest that although official talks have not started, CBS is exploring ways to retain King within the network, potentially offering her opportunities to produce new programs.

This move follows other recent changes at CBS, including Norah O'Donnell's shift from evening news anchor to correspondent. A CBS News spokesperson emphasized that no discussions have taken place regarding King’s contract, which runs through May 2026, and praised her as a valued member of the team.

With CBS News transforming Paramount’s sale to Skydance Media, the potential departure of King marks a significant change for the network. King has been a key figure at CBS since 2012, and her exit would be a major shift for the morning show lineup. She has not yet commented on her plans.
