Thomas Partey Set to Leave Arsenal as a Free Agent This Month

Thomas Partey will depart Arsenal when his contract expires at the month's end. The Ghana midfielder and the Premier League club could not agree on new terms during recent talks. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the 31-year-old will become a free agent. Arsenal pursued contract extension discussions with Partey's agents but failed to reach a deal. The midfielder's four-year stay at Emirates Stadium will conclude after this season.

Arsenal has targeted Brentford's Christian Norgaard as Partey's successor. The Gunners have begun exploring a transfer valued at 10 million pounds initially. Performance bonuses could add another 5 million pounds to the total fee. Manager Mikel Arteta wants to secure the Danish midfielder before the transfer window closes. Brentford must decide whether to accept Arsenal's approach for their captain.

Multiple clubs across Europe and beyond want Partey's services. Spanish teams have shown interest in the former Atletico Madrid star. Italian clubs also monitor his situation as he prepares to leave London. Saudi Arabian teams could offer lucrative contracts to the experienced player. Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid during 2020 for a significant transfer fee.

The midfielder has contributed significantly during his time at Arsenal. Partey made 167 appearances across all competitions for the club. He scored nine goals and provided assists throughout four seasons. His departure marks the end of a mixed period that included both strong performances and injury problems. Arsenal fans will remember his important contributions to recent campaigns.
