The Gambia's border guards sent 350 people back to their countries last year. These people came to The Gambia without permission.

They stopped 1,627 people from coming in because they didn't have the right papers. They caught 677 people trying to sneak across the borders. Half of these people came from other countries.
The border guards found 58 bad people who helped others cross the border illegally. Eight of these bad people went to jail. The guards also wrote down the names of 16,473 people from other countries who live in The Gambia. They did this because the law says they must keep track of visitors.
