Gnezdilov crushes world record, Dayawanti gutted

Denis Gnezdilov claimed his third World Championship title after breaking the men's Shot Put F40 world record twice on Monday at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The 38-year-old athlete from Rustavi threw 11.85 meters on his third attempt, and then reached 11.92 meters on his final throw. His performance surpassed Paralympic champion Miguel Monteiro's previous mark. Indian athletes competed in multiple events, with Dayawanti securing fourth place in women's Discus Throw F64 after throwing 27.94 meters to set an Asian record. Ayush Verma finished fifth in men's Shot Put F5 with 7.23 meters. Poland led the medal standings with four gold medals, and India held 13th position with one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.
