Gokwe North set to rock Uhuru party

Zimbabwe plans to celebrate its 45th independence anniversary outside the capital city this year. The national party heads to Gokwe North in Midlands province, showing how the government wants everyone included. People will gather at Nembudziya Growth Point Open Ground on April 18 under the theme about working together for future goals through 2030.

The celebration offers many fun activities for families and visitors. Kids can enjoy special programs throughout the day. Military groups will perform impressive demonstrations. Soccer fans can watch FC Platinum face off against Simba Bhora in the championship match. Musicians from across the country will entertain crowds well into the evening.

Local music stars think this brings great chances for Midlands artists. Admire Sanyanga, known as Chief Hwenje, praised leaders for picking his home region. He comes from nearby Mapanzure area and has performed at many national events before. He believes these big shows help artists grow their careers through nationwide exposure.

Gift Amuli shared similar thoughts about the celebration coming to Gokwe, where he grew up. He encouraged other local performers to attend even if they don't make the final lineup. Amuli pointed out that millions of people watch these events, both inside Zimbabwe and from other countries. He called on all citizens to join together for this important national day.

The government started moving these big celebrations around the country instead of keeping them only in major cities. Small but growing places like Dotito in Mt. Darwin and Murambinda in Buhera hosted past events. This approach matches the current administration's promise that nobody gets left behind in national progress.

These regional celebrations create several benefits beyond just marking independence day. They help discover new talented artists from different parts of Zimbabwe. Local businesses see increased sales and activity during these major events. The hosting areas often receive infrastructure improvements that remain after the celebration ends.

The soccer final between FC Platinum and Simba Bhora represents a change from tradition. Previously teams like Highlanders and Dynamos dominated these championship matches, with CAPS United occasionally playing. The Midlands teams will showcase their skills as part of the diverse cultural offerings planned for the celebration.

Chief Hwenje has built his reputation through energetic performances and well-planned dance routines. His songs include popular hits that resonate with many Zimbabweans. He promised fans an exciting show if selected to perform, saying the event would bring many top artists to light up Gokwe during independence celebrations.
