Google Pixel lands Pentagon approval, Department of War nod

Google Pixel smartphones have gained approval for use by United States federal agencies, following their addition to the Department of Defense Information Network’s Approved Products List. This clearance allows government employees to purchase and use Pixel devices for communications that do not require secure channels. The decision signals confidence in the security features of Pixel models and affirms compliance with strict federal standards.

Devices from Pixel 9 Pro XL to Pixel 6a, running Android versions 13 through 15, are included, with support set to expire between April 2027 and August 2028. The Pixel 10 series is not part of the approved list, but its addition is expected. Reports highlight that the Pixel 10 Pro faces challenges with certain games because of the Tensor G5 chip.
