GreenFuel Eye First Win at FC Platinum to Break Away Jinx

GreenFuel heads to Mandava Stadium on Saturday, hoping to fix their terrible away record against FC Platinum. The team has lost 22 out of 36 road games since joining the top flight in 2023. They split their away matches this season with a 1-0 loss to Ngezi Platinum but managed to beat Bikita Minerals 4-2. GreenFuel never won at FC Platinum before, only grabbing a draw plus suffering a defeat in previous meetings. Their home form tells a different story, as they turned Green Fuel Arena into an almost unbeatable venue.

The team currently sits fifth on the league table with eight points, trailing leaders Ngezi Platinum by five. They played three home games with one win plus two draws, collecting five points at home compared to just three away. GreenFuel scores more than any other team in the league but has kept only one clean sheet. They have remained undefeated at home for 28 straight games since losing to Simba Bhora last September.

Coach Taurai Mangwiro knows FC Platinum presents a tough challenge but believes his team can compete. He admitted their poor away form held them back last season despite excellent home results. Mangwiro stressed they must improve their road performances if they want to become serious title contenders this year. Their match against FC Platinum could mark a turning point in their campaign.
