Grishin warns Krasnodar win could have ended title

Former CSKA player Alexander Grishin believes the championship race would have ended if Krasnodar had defeated Zenit. Instead, Zenit crushed Krasnodar 4-1 during the 24th round of MIR RPL matches. Krasnodar remains atop the standings with 52 points, just ahead of second-place Zenit at 50 points. Spartak Moscow holds third place with CSKA tied at 47 points each.

Grishin told viewers on Match TV that Krasnodar faced only two challenging matches for the remainder of their season. The loss changed everything, according to the former player. The narrow two-point gap between first-place Krasnodar and second-place Zenit keeps the title race alive. Krasnodar must still travel to face medal-contending CSKA in a crucial upcoming match. Six rounds remain, and the championship battle is just heating up. Grishin predicts the team that loses the fewest points in direct matchups will claim the title.
