Gunmen kill PDP Chairman and his son in Kwara State attack

Gunmen shot and killed a local political leader and his son at their home in Kwara State. Abdullahi Shehu Kpotun served as chairman for the Peoples Democratic Party in Lade Ward One. The attackers struck during nighttime hours at their house in Lile community. Patigi Local Government Area officials confirmed both deaths occurred during the raid. Police have not identified the shooters or their reasons for the attack.

Former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki spoke out against the murders on Wednesday. Saraki called the violence barbaric and said such acts cannot be accepted. He sent prayers to the family and community members who lost their loved ones. The former leader demanded that security forces take immediate action. Saraki warned that rising crime rates across the state must stop.

Government agencies received urgent calls to protect citizens better. Saraki emphasized that keeping people safe should be the top concern for all officials. He said security teams must work faster to prevent more tragedies from happening. The community mourns the loss of both father and son. Local residents fear more attacks could occur without stronger protection measures.
