Harambee Stars slump to 113th in FIFA rankings

Kenya's national football team has fallen to 113th position in global rankings after suffering two defeats during friendlies held in Turkey, with the setback marking a descent from 109th place recorded earlier in the year. The Harambee Stars began their campaign with a narrow loss to Equatorial Guinea before Senegal delivered a devastating 8-0 victory that ranks among the heaviest defeats in Kenyan football history.

The Teranga Lions scored six goals before halftime, with Sadio Mane completing a hat-trick while Nicolas Jackson and Malick Diouf added to the scoreline during the opening period. Coach Benni McCarthy's squad created opportunities against Equatorial Guinea but failed to convert chances from Jonah Ayunga, Sylvester Owino, and Ryan Ogam after conceding an early penalty.

Regional neighbors also experienced setbacks as Uganda descended to 85th and Tanzania fell to 112th in the FIFA standings released by the governing body. Spain maintained first place globally ahead of Argentina and France.
