A Harare man faces murder charges after allegedly stabbing a competitor to death at a snooker table following a dispute about missing game tokens. Blessed Muchenje of Epworth appeared before magistrate Artwell Sanyatwe on Monday and was ordered held without bail pending a High Court hearing.
Prosecutors said Muchenje and the victim argued at Tobela Night Club in Epworth shortly after midnight on August 13. The disagreement escalated into physical violence outside the establishment, where Muchenje allegedly attacked the man with an Okapi knife, striking him twice in the shoulder and once in the back.
The accused fled while the victim bled heavily on the ground. Medical staff at Domboramwari Clinic pronounced the injured man dead upon arrival at the facility.
