Harare Pharma Boss Pockets 300K and Cruises in Whips

Police arrested Milton Goremusandu for stealing more than 300,000 dollars from his workplace. The 42-year-old man works as a credit controller at Varichem Pharmaceutical company in Harare. He appeared in court on Wednesday, facing theft charges after someone told company bosses about his activities. Goremusandu worked with Edwell Sibanda to take money from customers over four years. The magistrate sent him to jail awaiting a bail hearing.

Someone told the pharmaceutical company that two workers were stealing cash from customer payments. Company leaders started checking their records and found missing money from Trinity Pharmacy, Vidamac Pharmaceuticals, Asca Health Care, and Care Point Pharmacy. Goremusandu collected payments from these businesses but never put the money in the company bank accounts. Sibanda helped hide the crime by making fake accounting entries to cover stolen funds. The total missing amount reached 347,329 dollars between 2021 and May 2025.

Police arrested Sibanda at work on May 14 and caught Goremusandu at home four days later. Officers took away two vehicles from the credit controller's wife worth 70,000 dollars in total. The cars include a grey Toyota Fortuner and a white Toyota Corolla registered under Goremusandu's name. Police believe he bought both vehicles with stolen company money. Court papers show the pharmaceutical company called police on May 12 after discovering the theft.
