Harare City Council's water infrastructure modernization project will expand into Norton, Chitungwiza, Ruwa and Epworth as part of President Mnangagwa's development directive. Workers have completed over one kilometer in Warren Park while installing approximately 40 meters daily, targeting 400 kilometers citywide during an initial phase scheduled for completion by the first quarter next year. Mayor Jacob Mafume stated the rehabilitation will substantially decrease losses from burst infrastructure that has affected residents for years. The initiative includes deploying prepaid meters across roughly 350,000 homes throughout metropolitan zones.
