Havi Calls for Police Accountability Despite Blogger's Vanishing

Nelson Havi used to lead the Law Society of Kenya and wants people to keep pushing for police accountability. He made this call even though there has been drama around blogger Ndiang'ui Kinyagia who went missing. Havi thinks one bad situation should not stop the fight for police reform. He said the blogger's actions gave police officers unfair support for their claims about kidnappings. The former law leader believes this mess has made a good judge look bad.

Ndiang'ui caused a huge stir when people thought he had been taken by force. This happened after he posted something controversial on social media about protests that took place on June 25, 2025. Many Kenyans worried that police had grabbed him because of what he wrote. Later, people found out he was just hiding somewhere safe. Some citizens felt angry about this discovery but others were happy he was still alive.

High Court Judge Chacha Mwita got involved in the case and made strong demands. The judge told police chief Douglas Kanja and detective head Mohamed Amin to bring the blogger to court no matter what. Mwita said no person can just disappear from their home without leaving any trace. He told the officials to stop playing games and follow what the constitution says about missing people.

The judge made it clear that finding Ndiang'ui was the most important thing right away. He said the court must locate this missing Kenyan citizen who vanished on June 21, 2025.
