Hordes of Hunger Early Access Delivers Nonstop Carnage

Game fans who played Hordes of Hunger during early testing last year can finally grab it on Steam Early Access. The game mixes elements from Vampire Survivors, Hades, and hack-and-slash games into something special. Players control Mirah, who fights to save humanity from monster armies across different locations. She learns skills, crafts weapons, and gains permanent upgrades between missions through the characters she rescues.

Combat feels smooth with weapons like swords, hammers, and spears, each with special moves. Players choose from skills that boost stats or add elemental damage, which create powerful combinations during fights. Sometimes these effects become overwhelming on screen, making it hard to see what happens during intense battles. The menu system needs improvement, especially for controller users who struggle with weapon crafting screens.

The game offers different mission types, from killing enemies to escort jobs, that keep players engaged. Even in its early form, Hordes of Hunger provides addictive gameplay without requiring a huge time investment. It might feel repetitive after several hours, but it shows promise for future updates before its final release.
