Huawei Quietly Snaps Up China Chip Supply Chain

Huawei runs eleven chip factories across China under names that hide their connection to the company. These factories make computer chips for phones and AI machines, with some able to create advanced 7nm technology. The Chinese tech firm keeps these operations quiet through different company names like Qingdao Si'En and others, based mostly around Shenzhen. Many of these manufacturing sites receive money and support from Chinese government sources.

Huawei changed from mainly making phones to controlling the entire process of creating technology parts. Several factories match what SMIC, the largest chip maker in China, can produce. The company needs these factories because it sells large amounts of computer chips for various products. Huawei built a complete system where it handles everything from design to manufacturing of its electronics. With research teams and government backing, the company continues to expand despite international concerns.
