HYBE America adds another exec with a shiny new lawyer

HYBE America continues its executive hiring spree with another major legal appointment. The company named Gene Whitney as its new General Counsel, overseeing legal strategy across the Americas. Whitney brings experience from roles at Riot Games, Amazon Music, and Meta. He will guide corporate governance and support the firm's international expansion from Los Angeles.

This move follows other high-profile appointments at the entertainment giant. The company recently installed a new President of Music and an Executive Vice President of Communications. A Chief People Officer also joined the executive team months earlier. Whitney previously led music business affairs at Riot Games, shaping their interactive music strategy.

His hiring occurs after significant leadership changes within the American division. The previous CEO stepped away from his role last year. Current Chairman Isaac Lee now oversees operations across North and South America. Lee stated Whitney's expertise would help elevate the company's artists and intellectual property globally.

The company also formally launched a dedicated label services unit. This division aims to boost artist growth in international markets. A Los Angeles-based executive was promoted to Chief Business Officer to lead the new operation. The organization continues integrating its acquired labels under the expanded corporate structure.
