A popular radio host died Friday when a timber truck crashed into his bus near Takoradi. Isaac Bonaray worked as morning show host at Max FM radio station. The accident happened at Tankokrom as people prepared for Eid Al-Adha celebrations. Bonaray rode as passenger inside a mini-bus that day. A lumber truck lost control and started moving backward toward the vehicle.
The truck driver could not stop his vehicle from rolling into traffic. Bus driver Nkansah Kyerematen tried to avoid the timber truck but hit another car. The heavy truck smashed into the mini-bus anyway. Passengers jumped out through broken doors to escape danger. Bonaray tried to run away but the truck ran over him and killed him instantly.
Emergency workers arrived quickly at the crash scene. Fire service crews and police officers moved the damaged truck away. They took Bonaray's body to Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital morgue. The radio host had married recently and lived with his wife and baby son. He also served as chairman for local soccer groups and helped run sports programs across the region.
